In Praise of Shadows ‘Vox Pop’ Sparkling Pinot Noir 2022 – Adelaide Hills, SA
First off the rank is a crackling little bubbles picked at the coolest part of the night to help retain aromatics. There is a little bit of skin contact giving this wine a pink blush and a touch of strawberries and cream. But this is still very much a dry zesty wine with hints of herbal notes and citrus.

Slow Wine Co Riesling 2022 – Orange District, NSW
Slow Wine Co is not just a name but a philosophy of taking the time to get things right in the vineyard and bringing wines to market only when ready. This Cool climate vineyard is one of the highest in the region at 960 meters. Perfect for making a classic style of Australian Riesling. Dry & crisp with citrus and minerality for a long intense finish.

Vicoletto Catarratto, Sciliy, Italy
This wine is made from 100% Cataratto, a native variety to the Island of Sicily in Southern Italy. Citrus with hints of melon and a luscious texture typical of the variety make it a great match for seafood. This wine is as pure as it gets- unfined, unfiltered, vegan and low sulphite.

Selon Letang Chenin Blanc, Languedoc, France

Grown in the foothills of the Pyrenees the limestone soil and cooler climate from the elevation gives a refreshing crispness and mineral character. Densely fruity, peachy palate with a silky texture makes this a great match to curries and other aromatic dishes. Try this for your next take-out night!

Kris Pinot Grigio – Delle Venezie, Italy
With fruit sourced from around the North East of Italy a region famous for its aromatic whites. ‘Grigio’ meaning ‘gray’ in Italian, this wine is anything but. Unusually expressive floral, spice and nutty notes. Bold and refreshing on the palate with a lingering texture and length.

Mountadam ‘Five Fifty’ Chardonnay, Eden Valley, SA
Established in 1972 and after losing its way in the early 2000’s -after been sold to a large corporation- it was returned to private hands in 2005 and returned to icon status. Classic chardonnay characters of stone fruit and melon underpinned by citrus and minerality from the altitude of 550 meters alluded to in the wines name.

Collector ‘Shoreline’ Sangiovese Rosé 2022 – Canberra Region, ACT/NSW

The collector winery is focused on producing wines that best reflect regional expression and varietal definition. With a focus on emerging grape varieties this rose is made from the Italian grape Sangiovese. Classic varietal, think cherry and spice and all things nice with a dry crisp and morish palate. All we need now is the sunny weather!

Six Acres Pinot Noir – Yarra Valley, VIC

Sourced from a family-owned vineyard in Yarra Valley, established in 1999, comes this delicious Pinot Noir bursting with red berries, good acidity, tannin and a savoury edge. Offering outstanding value, it’s a bottle you’re sure to return to time and time again.

Colomba Bianca 'Principe di Granatey' Nero d'Avola 2021 – Siciliy, Italy

The second wine from Siciliy on this line shows our love for the island and their wines. In fact, Jeremy is there right now as I type these notes! Sourced from vineyards high above the coastal town of Mazara which helps to keep the bright, ripe red juicy fruit in check.

Ravensworth Barbera/Nebbiolo 2022 – Murrumbateman, NSW
From the cool climate of Murrumbateman comes a delicious Barbarea with a splash of Nebbiolo. Beautiful sour cherry essence and zingy acidity from the Barbarea and the Nebbiolo introduces a little more seriousness. A versatile wine with a label that alludes to Bryan, the winemaker’s other love and skill which is cooking.

Bodegas Exopto ‘Bozeto De Exopto’ Garnacha/Tempranillo 2021 – Rioja, Spain

From Spain’s most famous wine region comes this blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo. Unusually Spain’s most famous grape variety – Tempanillo takes a back seat in this blend. Super bright and high-toned, yet laden with silky brambly fruits and tinged with minerality and complexity. Definitely punches above its weight in terms of price point

Red Claw Shiraz – Heathcote, VIC
While this Shiraz is made at Yabby Lake on the Mornington Peninsula, the fruit is sourced from their other property at Heathcote estate. Owned by the Kirby Family who own Village roadshow no expense has been spared in producing these wines with meticulous grape selection and overseen by Tom Carson one of Australia’s greatest winemakers. This is a plush, spicy, crowd-pleasing shiraz.
